Jeanie Lai

GIS & Remote Sensing Analyst, M.Sc.

Welcome! My name is Jeanie and I am a Baltimore City native looking for new challenges using environmental science, GIS, and cartography to improve the living quality of communities. This passion of mine developed as I became more observant of how a landscape shapes those who occupy it and vice versa. I am interested in studying human-environment relationships, land and species conservation, climate change, and urban landscape phenomena.

My work experiences include aquatic vegetation surveying, drafting service pipeline replacements, creating GIS data for threatened and endangered species, and much more. Looking back at my educational and professional experiences that I have been fortunate enough to partake in, I know a career in public service is the most fitting for me. I am most fulfilled dedicating my time to the science and research that benefits all people's well-beings and environment.

For two years starting May 2018, I qualify for Direct Hire Authority (DHA) in applicable Department of the Interior (DOI) agencies (USFWS, NPS, BLM, BIA, USBR). This portfolio serves to provide insight into my educational background, past work experiences, and writing samples. Please feel free to contact me at jeani.lai3@gmail.com or as specified below!
